The LU series lathes, with their two opposed turrets, are the technology market leaders in the field of synchronous and simultaneous 4-axis machining.
Thanks to their technology, they guarantee savings of around 35%, both in terms of cost per part and cycle time.
Thanks to the substantial machine structure, the large flat guideways and the high-torque drives and motors, the series is particularly suitable for workpieces with a high length-to-diameter ratio.
The LU series also proves an excellent choice for machining materials of high toughness and hardness.
The Okuma LU EX series brings together 4-axis CNC lathes with dual turrets, designed to cut cycle times through parallel machining. The range spans from the entry model LU-S1600, with a 6/6 tool magazine capacity, through the intermediate LU3000 EX (12/8) and LU4000 EX and LU7000 EX (12/10), up to the top-of-range LU35II and LU45II, both with a 12+10 capacity. Across all models, rapid traverse reaches 15 m/min on the X axis and 20 m/min on the Z axis, ensuring consistent performance throughout the series. Machine footprint grows accordingly: from 4,535×2,872 mm for the LU35II to 4,750×3,340 mm for the LU45II. With this line-up, the LU EX series allows the right configuration to be matched to production volume and complexity, from simpler jobs to those requiring greater tooling capacity.
