Okuma MCR-BV

The MCR series is designed for the complete machining of large workpieces and for complete milling with unrivalled precision. It is particularly suitable for use in the production of automotive, railway, ship and construction machinery components, as well as in the agricultural, aerospace and mould-making industries.

The proven Thermo-Friendly Concept guarantees maximum process reliability, measuring stability and form accuracy. Thanks to the powerful interchangeable heads and additional extension levels, the MCR series machines can be optimally adapted to 5-sided machining and workpiece requirements.

The cross beam designed as a W-axis ensures precise positioning of the tool on the surface of the workpiece. Along the Z-axis, the RAM (425 x 420 mm) is realised, which allows the interchangeable heads to be stably accommodated.

The Okuma MCR-BV series comprises gantry (double-column) milling machines for 5-face machining, spanning the MCR-BV-25, MCR-BV-30 and MCR-BV-35 models, which grow in table size from 2,000 mm up to 2,500 mm and 3,000 mm, with longitudinal travel extending respectively from 3,000-6,500 mm, 5,000-10,000 mm and 5,000-12,000 mm to accommodate progressively longer workpieces. Across the range the spindle turns at 6,000 rpm, upgradable to 10,000 rpm as an option, while the tool magazine starts at 50 positions and can be expanded to 80, 100, 120 or 180. On the MCR-BV-25, spindle power, both continuous and peak, reaches 43/37 kW (with a 36/22 kW option), while on the MCR-BV-30 and MCR-BV-35 it stands at 26/22 kW, with an optional 30/22 kW variant. The series thus offers a progression of size and power suited to workpieces of increasing format.
